The beater (1) has a base body (2) made from polymeric material with elastic properties as part of a slaughter line. The base body comprises a work area (A), which is provided with scratches (3) made of metal, and a fastening region (B) for anchoring in a machine. A holder (8) is fixed to the machine by a screw (9) in a stable manner. The fastening region of the base body is engaged with the holder. The holder is formed as a housing, which is opened at two front surfaces. A screw head (10) of the screw is provided within the holder. The holder is made of stainless steel.
