The apparatus has an energy storage device comprising an energy unit group (30) and one electrical consumer unit (12). A measuring device (14) determines the voltage value of energy unit (10). A control unit (20) approximates the voltage value of the corresponding energy unit through a current limiter (22) such that the energy units have same voltage level, when there is a voltage difference between the energy units. The energy units are connected in parallel and connected to the electrical consumer unit through an electrical switching apparatus (24). An independent claim is included for method for parallel connection of two power units.
