The method involves directing metal strip (MB) with aid of directional rollers (125) during current straightening process. The strip shape of metal strip is detected after straightening as strip shape measurement data. The initialization immersion depth for next straightening process is determined and weighed for the commission according to deviation of strip-shape measuring data and initialization immersion depth obtained from database for arranging straightening rollers. The weighed initialization immersion depth is stored in database to replace initialization immersion depth.
