The actuator (2) has an actuator body (5) comprising multiple electrode layers. A portion (31) of an outer electrode (30) is arranged in an edge strip (23) in an outer side (24) of the actuator body. Another portion (32) of the outer electrode is arranged in a middle area (33) in the outer side of the actuator body. A portion of the electrode layers extends into the edge strip and is electrically connected with the former portion of the outer electrode. Another portion of the electrode layers is distant from the edge strip.
