The lifter has a guide rail (2) arranged within in a door body (1) and fastened at a door body or a carrier at end regions. An actuator (3) is displaceable along the guide rail and receives a frameless door window pane (15). The guide rail is provided with a deformation region (22) in an upper end region. A clamping screw, a clamping or bending device and a bending element adjust elastic deformation of the deformation region in a direction of a motor vehicle transverse axis or Y-axis. Upper and lower fastening devices (41, 42) are positioned in the end regions of the guide rail. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting guide rails and adjusting an alignment and deformation of the guide rail.
