Solar cell connecting method, useful for producing solar cell string, comprises performing assembly step by disposing connector element on solar cell, and producing electrical connection between connector element and solar cell
The solar cell connecting method comprises performing assembly step by disposing a connector element on a solar cell, performing connection step by producing an electrical connection between the connector element and the solar cell, and performing patterning step by structuring a surface of the connector element using laser, where the patterning step is carried out simultaneously with or chronologically after the assembly step. The patterning step is performed simultaneously along or after the assembly step, where the structured connector element acts as a light trapping connector. The solar cell connecting method comprises performing assembly step by disposing a connector element on a solar cell, performing connection step by producing an electrical connection between the connector element and the solar cell, and performing patterning step by structuring a surface of the connector element using laser, where the patterning step is carried out simultaneously with or chronologically after the assembly step. The patterning step is performed simultaneously along or after the assembly step, where the structured connector element acts as a light trapping connector in the finished solar module. During the patterning, a predominant part of the solar cell that is adjacent to the connector element is structured along its entire length, where the connector element is arranged under an inert gas protective atmosphere. The connector element comprises a core made of a core material and a covering layer made of a cover material that is different from the core material, where, in the patterning step: the covering layer is partially removed so that the underlying core is partially exposed; and the covering layer is partially removed without exposing the underlying core. The connection step is carried out using a first energy input, and the patterning step is carried out using a second energy input, where the first energy input and the second energy input are supplied from different sources. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method of producing a solar module; and (2) a solar cell connecting apparatus.
