The cartridge (40) has an ink containing assembly (42) for containing ink, and a memory unit (125) for storing time duration data, which represents time duration required for moving the cartridge from one position to another position. The positions are defined within an attachment unit in a recording device i.e. inkjet printer, where the cartridge reaches one of the positions before it reaches the other position when the cartridge is attached with the attachment unit. The time duration is defined depending on ink amount that is received by the ink containment assembly. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a recording device comprising a recording head (2) a method for controlling a recording device.
