A method for manufacturing a shaped photovoltaic thin layer device comprises preparing a length of tubular glass substrate with an inner diameter, an outer diameter, a circumferential outer surface area, which by means of an absorbing layer and a resting on the absorbing layer window - buffer - position is covered. The substrate is in a vacuum of between about 13,3 pa (0,1 torr) to about 2,67 pa (0,02 torr) and placed in a mixture of from diethylzinc - species, aquatic species recovered reactant - species and a carrier gas are introduced in the same way as a diborane - species. The substrate is heated in order to a zinc oxide layer having a thickness of 0,75 – 3 μm, a turbidity (‘ haziness ") of at least 5% and an electrical resistivity of less than 2,5 mω - cm to form.
