The press (10) has a die table (11) in which a die bore (12) is formed, where an upper plunger (13) is inserted into the bore. A sleeve-like sealing collar (16) surrounds a section of the upper plunger. A guiding sleeve (17) is inserted into a hole (15) in an upper plunger guide (14), where the upper plunger is accommodated in the hole in an axially movable manner. A ventilation channel (20) is formed between an outer wall of the sleeve and an inner wall of the hole and stands in connection with an inner space (21) of the collar and surrounding atmosphere.
