The rod has a suction tube (1) comprising a cross-hole or a slot (2) formed in a central section of the tube. Another cross-hole or a milled edge is provided at a distal end section of the tube, and an end cap (6) and a closure sleeve (10) selectively close or open the cross-holes and are sealingly guided at an outer wall of the tube in a longitudinally displaceable manner. The end cap is sealingly covered over the distal end section, and a connecting piece i.e. sleeve (12), is arranged at a proximal end section of the tube.
