The reversing gear has an input shaft (11), an output shaft (12) and a sliding unit, where the input shaft and the output shaft are arranged in an alignment. One of the shafts is rotatably connected with a ring gear, where another shaft is selectively releasable or connectable with another ring gear by using the sliding unit. An independent claim is also included for a power train for a vehicle.
