The device (20) has an interface (44a) connected with a measuring interface (44) of a bone conducting hearing aid (2). A signal source outputs a test signal to the interface. A measurement circuit measures an electrical characteristic e.g. resistance, of a coil (12) of the hearing aid. An output device (42) has a green LED (40) and a red LED (41) for display of different functional states of the hearing aid or for display of a value of contact pressure. The measurement circuit comprises a rectifier circuit for rectification of a measuring voltage that is provided to a comparator unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a bone conducting hearing aid (2) a method for measuring contact pressure of a bone conducting hearing aid.
