The aid has an input converter for converting an input signal into an electrical signal. An amplifier amplifies the electrical signal. An output converter converts the amplified electrical signal into an output signal. An energy storage device is used for supply of electrical energy to the amplifier. A battery test strip (7) is adapted to indicate a measure for an energy content of the energy storage device. The battery test strip is electrically connected with an electrical positive pole of the energy storage device.
