Preparation of a dietary or pharmaceutical composition comprises mixing milled tartary buckwheat with a protein solution, where the weight ratio of the protein solution to buckwheat is 2-100 and the protein solution is heated either prior to the addition of the buckwheat at room temperature or above the room temperature; leaving the mixture for at least 10-1000 seconds at greater than 50[deg] C; and subsequently cooling the mixture at less than 45[deg] C. An independent claim is included for the dietetic or pharmaceutical composition obtained by the above method. ACTIVITY : Neuroprotective; CNS-Gen.; Hypotensive; Antiarteriosclerotic; Antidiabetic; Osteopathic; Ophthalmological; Dermatological; Vasotropic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
