Method for supplying fuel to engine of motor vehicle, involves drawing characteristic field line in pedal characteristic map based on required root mean square torque in response to accelerator pedal position at certain speed of engine
The characteristic field line (12) is drawn in pedal characteristic map (10) based on required root mean square (RMS) torque (16) in response to an accelerator pedal position at a certain speed of the engine. The slope of characteristic field line below the lower threshold value of fuel consumption is smaller than the slope of the characteristic field line above the lower threshold value. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) control unit of fuel system of internal combustion engine; and (2) computer program product comprising program for supplying fuel to internal combustion engine.
