The adjuster has a stator (10a) that is fixed to a crankshaft. Several pressure chambers (12a-15a) are formed on the boundary of stator in axial direction. A fixing unit attaches the roughened surface areas (16a-23a) of lid (11a) on the stator, so that the frictional force between the roughened surface areas of lid is increased. An independent claim is included for method for creating roughened surface area in camshaft adjuster.
