The element (1) has an open surface structure region (4) provided with a set of holes (2, 3) and designed as a perforated plate. A visible side of the element is provided with a coating layer. The coating layer has a thin layer formed by physical vapor deposition (PVD) or chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and made of metal or metal alloy with layer thickness up to 1 micrometer. Another coating layer i.e. protective varnish layer, is formed on the thin layer, where the latter coating layer is formed with thickness below 0.01 mm. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a coated cover element.
