A particle collecting chamber (12) for collecting separate particles (16) from the suction flow (15), has a suction inlet (24) for inflow of suction flow in chamber to suction motor (13) leading to suction outlet (25). A filter (17) filters the particulates from suction flow, and a cleaning device (35) cleans the filter. The suction motor associated with engine sensor (60) generates a suction engine sensor signal. A control unit (50) controls the cleaning device for performing cleaning process with function of naturally aspirated engine sensor signal. An independent claim is included for method of operating suction device.
