The manually operable shading device (1) has a manual control unit (5) that is provided with manually driven generator (7). An electrical coupling is established between manual control unit and adjustable shading element (6). The shading element is coupled to an electric motor (8). The electric motor and manually driven generator are electrically connected via a connecting line (10). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) window pane; (2) window assembly; and (3) method for performing manual actuation of shading element.
