The support (1) has receptacle that is formed in middle section of fishing rod (5), for insertion of rod. A movable retaining element (2) is moved from a receiving position for insertion of rod into a closed position for securing the rod moved in the receptacle. An elongate slot (6) is provided for receiving the free running fishing line. The fishing rod support is fixed on a rod rack by connecting element (10).
