Arrangement for generating nitrogen laser pulse, used in spectroscopic application, has rounded electrodes provided in discharge area so that high voltage pulses are advanced to electrodes through ribbon conductor for excitation of laser
The arrangement has cylindrical gas discharge tube (1) that is filled with nitrogen, and provided with flat glass windows (2a,2b) at two ends. One window is equipped for exit of light pulses. Rounded electrodes (3a,3b) are provided in discharge area so that steep rising high voltage pulses are advanced to electrodes through ribbon conductor for excitation of laser operation. The distance between electrodes with homogeneous electric field distribution is 0.1 mm. The rounded discharge-side surface of the grounded electrode is made of platinum or aluminum.
