The device (1) has a pivotably supported wing with a wing frame (2a), where the wing is pivotable from a closing position to an opening position. A damper (10) comprising an elastically-deformable element (17) is inserted into the frame and/or a stop rail. The damper has a housing with a movably guided pin (13) that projects from the frame or the rail. The pin is operated shortly before reaching the closing position during pivoting of the wing frame into the closing position and pushed into the housing against return force during the movement of the wing till to the closing position.
