The battery pack has several flat rechargeable battery cells that are arrangement in an arrangement of housing. The battery cells are led out for electrical interconnection of an anode arrester (8) and a cathode arrester (7). The battery cells are connected with each other through electric contact devices (20). A mechanical separating device (40) is arranged near the arresters in the housing for mechanically splitting the battery cells.
