BRAND READER WITH REDUCED RESPONSE TIME BETWEEN RELEASING AND DECODING

Systems and methods for use with a handheld tag reader that reduce the time between activation of the reader trigger and return of a response for successful decoding by the reader. Image processing may be performed before the user operates the trigger, and thus a decodable image with shortened delay can be obtained. Separate parameters before and after the shutter button is pressed can be used for picture decoding. A feedback loop may be incorporated for repeated parameter updates. An adjustable lens can be used either with the lights on or off.
