Real-time monitoring of an equivalence ratio of a gas / fuel mixture of a gas turbine is created. The system contains a plurality of optical probes which are arranged on a plurality of fuel nozzles in order to transmit laser beams directly through a gas / fuel mixture or indirectly via reflection of the laser beams on a surface of a central base body or burner tube of the fuel nozzle.
