The touch screen unit (1) has detection sensors which are connected to the approach detection unit (6). The approach detection unit is seen, when the object (5) is located on and/or in the vicinity of the surface of the touch panel unit. The approach detection unit detects the selection area on the surface of the touch panel unit, which is located under the object. The focus is transferable to the control elements that are closest in the center of the selection area.
