The gearbox has a parking lock (1) including a ratchet pawl (3) with pawl teeth for engagement in locking teeth. The pawl is pivotable around a rotational axis. An actuating unit (5) is mechanically coupled with the pawl. The pawl teeth are reversibly brought into engagement against the locking teeth by the actuating unit. The pawl teeth are loaded by an actuator i.e. electric motor. The pawl is separately manufactured from a gearbox housing. The pawl is inserted in an opening of the housing as a component so that the pawl partially closes the opening than a part of the housing.
