The invention relates to a finger scanner to be arranged on a vertical surface, in which the sensor surface is arranged at least approximately flush in a larger contact surface, inclined towards the user, for the user's finger to be scanned. The inclination of the contact surface (2.1, 12.1) is adjustable. This improves the convenience of using the finger scanner even for people of very different heights and improves the reproducibility of recording processes.
