The method involves subjecting a vacuum insulation panel to a renewed evacuation process by an evacuation chamber. The panel is partially deformed using a deformation unit by oscillation, pressure, shaking processes and/or pressing operations. The deformation unit is provided in the evacuation chamber and provided with a pressing unit i.e. press. A surface of the panel is partially structured. A side of the panel is provided with a surface patterning that forms a functional element in the surface of the panel. An independent claim is also included for a device for processing a vacuum insulation panel element.
