The bumper device (12) has a bumper fascia (14) which is stiffened by a shroud support (18) and indirectly fixed on the motor vehicle chassis. The shroud support has a curved portion which is outwardly formed in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The shroud support is made of plastic such as thermoplastic. An independent claim is included for holding assembly of bumper device.
