The device (3) has a spraying device (5) i.e. injector nozzle, applying an adhesion-strengthening agent (6) directly before or under a tire contact surface and/or on a tread of a tire (4) of a vehicle (1). A driving dynamics control unit has a sensor system determining external temperature in a region of a water freezing point, slippage of tire in relation to a track (2) and small vehicle deceleration. The agent is selected from sand, gravel, granule, a bonding agent, liquid, and/or a tape. The control unit is designed as an anti-lock braking system and an electronic stability program control. An independent claim is also included for a method for increasing adhesion of a tire of a vehicle.
