The method involves automatically recognizing wear state of a friction clutch (1) based on actuator parameters e.g. actuator force, and friction clutch parameters measured by using a software. A shifting device (2) is triggered into a position of the recognized wear state by self adjustment of the friction clutch, where the shifting device comprises a clutch release fork lever (7). A curve in torque transferred by the friction clutch over the actuator is detected by the software based on the recognized wear, where wear adjustment is performed using a dual clutch gear box. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a shifting device comprising a clutch release fork lever (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for performing wear adjustment of a coupling arrangement.
