The battery (1) has electrical and/or electronic components (3) arranged at an outer-side of a battery housing (2), where individual cells e.g. lithium ion cells, of the battery are kept at moderate temperature. The electrical and/or electronic components are thermally coupled with the battery housing such that the electrical and/or electronic components are cooled by moderate temperature of the battery housing. The electrical and/or electronic components are formed as a charge controller (3.1), battery electronics and/or a voltage transformer (3.2).
