Drinking water production comprises carrying out waste water purification by zeolite filtration, removing heavy metals from raw water with at least a zeolite based cation exchanger using at least one natural adsorbent, removing nitrate and nitrite from the raw water with at least one regenerable exchange resin comprising anion exchanger, disinfecting the raw water including microorganism destruction by oxidants, which are generated by at least one diamond electrode during an anodic oxidation of water serving as electrolyte, and removing the oxidizing agents.
