The method involves co-operating a mobile handset (1) with two authentication devices (8, 71) by authentication components (2, 3) through wireless communication, where one of the authentication components is different from the other authentication component. One of the authentication devices is provided outside the handset and the other authentication device to authenticate the latter authentication component. Payment transaction is authorized based on result of authentication of the components. The latter authentication component is provided with a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip. The mobile handset is selected from a mobile telephone and a portable personal computer. The authentication component comprises a subscriber identity module (SIM) card and international mobile equipment identity, and another authentication component comprises electronic identity card. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product having a set of instructions for executing a method for authorizing a payment transaction.
