The method involves manufacturing a ball part (10) and filling an undercut (12) of the ball part with a filling element (30) such that the undercut is filled in some regions. The assembly of the ball part and the filling element is inserted into a mold (40), which is reproduced by a socket part (20). The mold is filled with a liquid plastic under pressure, where the plastic material is hardened. The ball and socket joint consisting of the ball- and socket part is de-molded and the filling element is removed from the ball and socket joint. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a piston assembly for a hydrostatic piston machine with a piston and a sliding piece; and (2) a filler element formed as a ring with inner side formed as negative form of sphere.
