The arc-cutter (1) has a cutting blade tapered at a lower portion on a back side and comprising a cutting edge along a blade lower edge. A blade-holding mechanism includes a sheet holding element (25) that is arranged in front of the cutting blade. The cutting blade is screwed at a rear mounting plate by bolts, where the rear mounting plate is moved relative to the sheet holding element. A return spring is mounted between the rear mounting plate and the sheet holding element in order to upwardly press the rear mounting plate relative to the sheet holding element. An independent claim is also included for a method for exchanging cutting blades in an arc-cutter.
