Directly or indirectly ionizing radiation attenuating material for fabricating e.g. gloves that protect operator against ionizing radiations, has matrix integrated with attenuating atoms to ensure attenuation of ionizing radiations
The material has matrix integrated with attenuating atoms to ensure attenuation of ionizing radiations, where the attenuating atoms comprise a combination of metal atoms including bismuth, tungsten and an atom chosen from lanthanides corresponding to lanthanum. The metal atoms include metal salt such as phosphate, fluoride or nitride, and/or metal oxide. Metal compounds containing tungsten are presented in form of the metal oxide or pure metal. The matrix is made from synthetic thermoplastic material, natural elastomer, or resin. An independent claim is also included for a protection equipment comprising a directly or indirectly ionizing radiation attenuating material.
