The station (1) has a poly-articulated robot (2) comprising a base (20) on which an articulated arm (21) is assembled. The arm comprises a loose lead that is equipped with a head (22) bearing a tool (23) for realizing operation on a part of a vehicle. A mobile plate (31) comprises a co-operation body (33) that is complementary to the tool, so as to allow displacement of the plate under action of the arm of the robot when the tool cooperates with the co-operation body. An independent claim is also included for a method for handling an automated station.
