The device has a gamepad (6) equipped with an adapter in the form of a connection cable dedicated to a game system e.g. console or personal computer, to offer possibility of switching the gamepad for a given game system. The gamepad is equipped with a male connector socket (2) for connecting the gamepad to the adapter. The gamepad has printed circuit without an electronic component, and a cord connects the gamepad to a plastic protection case (5) of the adapter. An independent claim is also included for a method for universalizing a gamepad to be used on a game console and a computer.
