The assembly (2) has a counterform (7) arranged to support a portion of a sheet metal part (3), and presenting a side to fold the sheet part. A flanging blade (9) is mounted between a raised position in which the flanging blade is remote from the sheet part, and a pressing position in which the flanging blade is in support with the sheet part against a side of the counterform. The flanging blade includes an opening for the passage of a punch (11), where the opening of the flanging blade is realized in the form of a traverse hole. An independent claim is also included for a stamping press comprising an upper frame.
