The general field of the invention is that of bimodal medical probes. The object of the invention is to provide a simple device that responds perfectly to the dual concern of bimodality and sterilization. The proposed device is a protection (1) also called "glove" or "sock" sterile disposable or sterilizable equipped with optical fibers (3, 32, 33). This protection is threadable on an ultrasonic probe. It thus ensures both functional bimodality and perfect sterilization of the probe, which is the goal. It is easy to make and easy to implement.
