The device has an occultation panel (110) i.e. Venetian panel, to partially or fully occult an opening in a facade (130). Guiding units guide the panel in translation with respect to the opening. Driving units comprise an electric motor (240) to assure relative displacement of the panel with respect to the opening. The motor is translationally integrated to the panel. The guiding units comprise a guiding section (220) fixed to the facade, and a toothed rack cooperating with the driving units for displacing the panel, where the rack is made of polymer and operated without lubrication. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a ready to mount assembly for installing an occultation device in the facade (2) a method for installing the occultation device in the facade.
