The reservoir (1) has an interior (3) for receiving brake fluid (9). A liquid retaining device (17) is installed in the interior of the reservoir. A connection (13) connects the interior of the reservoir to a master cylinder (14). A complementary nozzle (16) connects the interior of the reservoir to a liquid pump of a brake system of a vehicle. The liquid retaining device is positioned in the interior, so that the connection of the master-cylinder and the complementary nozzle is covered with the brake fluid.
