The vapor phase osmosis module comprises a double envelope of which an internal envelope is constituted of a polymer film, which is semi-permeable to water vapor and impermeable to water having a liquid state and an external envelope, which is impermeable to water that is in a gaseous state or a liquid state. An atmosphere between the envelopes is rapidly renewed by adding a blow of a gaseous fluid between walls of envelopes and by extracting the gaseous fluid from envelopes using an extractor. A surface of semi-permeable wall is corrugated that increases a surface of the semi-permeable film. Independent claims are included for: (1) a system for drying biomass by vapor phase osmosis; (2) a system for purifying waste water by vapor phase osmosis; (3) a system for desalinating water by vapor phase osmosis; (4) a process for drying biomass by vapor phase osmosis; (5) a process for depolluting the polluted water; and (6) a process for desalinating water by vapor phase osmosis.
