The amplifier (1) has an electric actuator (20) applying assistance force on a control body (24), where the assistance force is added with force delivered by a driver on a control rod (2) to actuate a master-cylinder (6). Relative position sensors (32, 34, 36) are arranged between the body and the control rod to control the electric actuator. Limit sensors (40, 42) are arranged at a course end of the body, to detect a final position of a course. A reaction disk (28) is axially interposed between a piston (4) of the master cylinder and front faces (12, 26) of the rod and the body. The reaction disk is made of elastic and non-compressible material. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a braking amplifier.
