The bedspread (3') has a dampening layer arranged as an intermediate layer between an upper surface of springs (4) of a metallic structure of a mattress (1) and the bedspread, where the layer is made from flexible polyurethane foam boards, viscoelastic foam boards or felt boards. The layer is utilized as a peripheral element for lateral protection and occultation of the springs, by directly assembling the bedspread with the metallic structure and finishing the assembly using material of the layer. The layer is integrated to the interior of the bedspread during fabrication of the bedspread.
