The device has a cavity (100) arranged in a floor in a normal usage position, where retraction of a seat of a car is made by translation in vertical direction (20) between the normal usage position and a storage position. The translatory movement is ensured by rods (220) that connect a joint (215) on the seat to an anchoring point (240) of the vehicle. The rods are arranged on both sides of center of gravity of the seat, and locks are provided in the device.
