A method of tracking the carrier phase of a signal received from a satellite by a carrier by means of a tracking loop of the carrier phase, said signal being acquired by a carrier navigation system which comprises a receiver (10) a radio navigation location and an autonomous unit (20), the receiver (10) being adapted to acquire and continue the carrier phase of the signal from the satellite, the method comprising the following steps: - determining a servo error the carrier phase loop, said servo error being determined between two sampling times and corresponding to a first phase difference; determining a variation in acceleration of the carrier between the two sampling instants by means of the autonomous unit (20); - projection of the acceleration variation on a satellite-receiver view axis to obtain a second phase difference; comparing the first and second deviations to detect an error in the measurement of the carrier phase continued by said carrier phase loop.
