CYTOLOGY METHOD USING AUTOFLUORESCENCE OF WHITE GLOBLES FOR EARLY DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOW-UP OF INFECTIONS

The present invention relates to an in vitro method for diagnosing the infectious state of an individual from a sample of white blood cells from a biological sample of an organ potentially infected with a pathogenic microorganism of said individual, comprising at least one least the two following steps: i) measure the average cellular intensity of the autofluorescence of said sample, and ii) compare the intensity measured in step i) with a control value, so as to determine the infectious state of said individual . The diagnostic method of the invention uses routine optical equipment to work in wavelength ranges compatible with cellular autofluorescence, and thus provides a fast, reliable and inexpensive aid to the diagnosis or monitoring of a infection in an individual.
